Don’t waste your money!!
This is my 2nd cover in less than 5 years. What Apple charges for these is highway robbery honestly! My 1st one was worse than this one. My husband has a non Apple product that looks new and has had it for years. I am a loyal Apple customer and now buying a new Ipad, but at $289 I will NOT be purchasing the Magic Keyboard that Apple sells. I wanted to add that the present keyboard that I have started going bad within six months after I purchased it. However, life gets in the way, cancer, moving, retirement, and now that I am purchasing a new iPad and looking at prices, I thought that I should review this. I was disappointed because I realize that Apple has not made improvements on this keyboard and this keyboard is much too expensive for my iPad. Paying $289 for a keyboard for my new iPad when I personally think it should come with the iPad, I think Apple needs to reevaluate some of their current products as my husband and I have thought about changing over and not using Apple anymore. We are definitely not getting our monies worth w/Apple products unfortunately .

lettering wears off keys
It's all good -- if expensive -- EXCEPT FOR THE DURABILITY OF THE LETTERING ON THE KEYS. This happened with the last Apple keyboard as well, so this time I took the precaution of adding clear nail polish for additional protection. Nevertheless, I just noticed the lettering on my 'E' and 'A' keys had vanished -- after only five months. That's the sort of thing I would expect from a forty dollar generic substitute -- not from a $180.00 Apple product. Worse, the previous generation of Apple keyboards had the same problem, and as I know from then, Apple insists on calling the defect 'cosmetic.' No...not being able to read the keys really is a substantial problem. Apple must be aware of it by now -- and I'm confident that at this price point, it could easily be addressed. One can only infer that they see the lack of durability as a feature, not a bug.

Perfect
Was worried that this would not help my poor iPad out of its slump. It did! Perfectly, right out of the box. So excited to have my beloved iPad back and able to type on it! (Just didn't like waiting....but I get the "sold out" stuff."

This was pretty expensive for something that is held on with magnets
This was pretty expensive for something that is held on with magnets. I don’t love it, but I might not hate it enough to get another. We’ll see… it offers no shock protection from dropping. the keyboard works fine, but is a compact design.
