My low end Emachine with Windows 7 from Wally served me well for years and on first releases of Windows 10. Then forced update to Windows 10 ver 1607 bricked the ole Emachine. Thanks Microsoft… you cost me $425.
NOTE: Just for the experience and fun, installed Linux Mint (much nicer/safer than Windows 7) on the old Emachine and we’re happy, happy, happy.

Back to this HP PC. Once you get rid of all the pre-installed HP and Windows garbage, these PC’s (best to do clean install) are not a bad basic home PC atall.

This combo purchase was awesomely priced- still hard to believe. For me, a desktop with a monitor means no crunching over to see what you are doing! The desktop itself is not as large as the older ones and fairly light. I brought this purchase home and was up and running in no time. The features (windows 10, large hard drive, speedy processor) are what i was looking for. Great purchase!

Most useless set of instructions that come with this computer I have seen with a computer I have ever had. Had two total lockups in the first week one more and walmart gets it back. Need more usb ports

From the beginning I have gotten a “keyboard error” upon start up, although the keyboard still worked, but at random times it would just freeze up – the keyboard and mouse were both inoperable – sometimes it would clear up on it’s own at other times I had to shut the computer down . I hooked up my old keyboard and no longer get the error message on start up. I have had this computer for a few weeks and so far everything else is fine. It does not come with speakers (but I knew that from reading the other reviews), the CD drive is very flimsy but it is just me using the computer so I think it will be fine, but I don’t see it holding up for anyone one that were to rough in closing it (you have to physically push the lid in). Speed seems to be fine, the monitor has good graphics. I am only giving a average rating because of the c r a p p y keyboard.

I like this Windows 10 PC and monitor….for the money it would be hard to beat. It is fast, and so far seems reliable. I thought there were some parts missing from the CD/DVD drive when I opened it, really a flimsy holder for the Disc, scary to use but seems to work okay. There are not enough USB ports unless you are using wireless devices…..printer, GPS, camcorder, etc. I solved that problem by installing a “PLUGABLE” USB Hub with seven outlets, two with power for charging devices.

The unit is quiet, very fast to load on startup and the monitor has a good picture. I give it a four star rating. If the CD/DVD mechanism were not so flimsy, I would rate it five stars. I have tried many times to upload a photo of the mechanism to this rating but with no luck.

This computer, so far, seems to work fine, which most computers do at least to start, but we’re super disappointed that although the description says great sound “with” speakers, no speakers come with this desktop, and there are NO built in speakers on the modem or monitor. So, there is absolutely no sound. Luckily we have old, half blown speakers that we are using temporarily, but for a system that brags about it’s sound system and says “with speakers,” we found it pretty disappointing to have no sound whatsoever. Pretty misleading, especially as the picture shows speakers next to the modem. Not sure when they stopped putting them in desktops? I’ve always had sound in either the monitor or modem. It should specify that you HAVE to have other speakers hooked up. Otherwise it seems to be an average computer, decent for the price. The bonus is that the computer for $100 more says it has HDMI and this one doesn’t say that, but does have it. So that’s a plus if that’s something you’re looking for.
