Wasn’t sure how I’d like this “budget” laptop, but I’m happily surprised. I bought it for my 12 year old for his birthday knowing that he’ll use it for watching DVD’s on road trips and maybe Vudu/Flixster/Amazon Prime, with some occasional email and internet use. Fired it up last night and got everything set up and configured in less than an hour. The only issue is that with Windows 10 it helps if you have a Microsoft account (like hotmail, outlook.com, etc), but we skipped that and was able to add his gmail account in the native email app without issue. It’s way lighter than my 17″ laptop, seems to have adequate quantity of ports for RJ45, USB, etc. The DVD-RW was a must have and wifi hooked up immediately. It’s a speedy little thing with a decent since hd. Should last him for awhile and frankly, has me wondering if it’s time for me to get a new one!

This is good laptop, It is lightweight, sturdy and the screen looks good. It has Windows 10 installed, so no upgrade to this OS is needed. It has all the features an operator needs to start working out of the box. It does need to do some start up updates, as all new computers do, but these don’t take long to do. The hardest part is waiting for the start up work to finish. The wireless connection is great, no hunting for the wireless button to switch it on. It has a CD-ROM drive which is a plus for using CD’s to upload music files, or installing drivers for peripherals. I have found this computer very easy to use and have little difficulty getting the start up window to appear. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good, quality computer. you can’t go wrong with an H-P.

Setting up this laptop was a breeze. Setting up the WIFI was no different then setting up your cell phone to the WIFI. When i turned the computer on it had a few updates to install, it took about 10 min for this to get done and then i was good to go. The keys are not loud when you punch them and the mouse is not super touchy. The screen and images are wonderful and clear. This laptop does not run loud at all. I have an acer laptop that i have had for about 6 years and i like it pretty well but my husband works on the boat and was wanting one to bring with him. I purchased this one due to not wanting to spend a lot of money for one to go on a towboat and he will just use it for downloading movies, watching dvd’s, facebook and playing some games. I am seriously considering going and getting me one and giving my old acer to my 8 year old. Love this. To anyone on a budget, which i am, this is a great product for very little money.

This appears to be the biggest complaint of many. WIRELESS IS DIFFICULT TO SET UP! You must set up your wireless manually!!!!

Using the automated WiFi setup brings up a name and a password. It should only bring up the Security Key i.e. 1234567.

I did a bit of digging and I found a fix.

    1) You go down to the right of the task bar.
    2) Navigate to the internet access icon.
    3) Right click on the icon.
    4) Hit open “Network and Sharing Center”.
    5) Navigate under “Change your network settings”.
    6) Click on “Set up a new connection or network”. A prompt should show up giving you four different options.
    7) Select “Manually connect to a wireless network”.
    8) Enter the name of the wifi network, and select a security type. The two most common security types are WEP, and WPA2-Personal.
    9) Test both out, and if you need to, test if the rest work.
10 Finally, after you have completed that procedure, hit and wait for your PC to connect to the wireless network.

I really hope I have helped you, and a ton of other people reading this post! Thanks, bye.

Good price for a good brand. Ordered mine on Tuesday and it was delivered to me on Thursday. Set up was easy and simple. I uninstalled several apps that I have no use for and downloaded Firefox, my preferred browser. My primary use for this is for my online classes and it works great so far. I have no wifi so I plugged in the ethernet cable and it runs fast. I was worried when I read other reviews that the mouse/touchpad was too sensitive and I experienced it for myself. The screen/page would jump up and down while I was typing and it was irritating. I went searching and found that you can adjust the sensitivity settings if you click on Additional Mouse Options and then click on Settings for Touchpad, and you’ll see several options to choose from for you mouse/touchpad. I adjusted the sensitivity settings closer to Heavy Touch and now I have no problems when I’m typing.
